Waiting On Wednesday
Buddy: How A Rooster Made Me A Family Man (Hardcover) By Brian McGrory Rel. Date: 11-13-12
Brian McGrory's life changed drastically after the death of his beloved dog, Harry. He fell in love with Pam, Harry's Vet. Though Brian's only responsibility used to be his adored Harry, Pam came with accessories that could not have been more exotic to the city-loving bachelor: among other animals and two daughters, a red-crowned- and wattled step-rooster named Buddy.
As he learns how to live by living with animals, Buddy, Brian's nemesis, becomes Buddy, Brian's inspiration, in this inherently human story of love, acceptance, and change.

As the fall weather is upon us and as we are loosing the daylight earlier, Buster's walks in the park are coming to an end. He will surely miss them until the spring. The yard is filled with the leaves falling from the trees and he seems to pick a lot of them up on his paws, which he tracks into the house.I am not complaining because soon they will be gone and the trees will be bare. That's it for now, stay tuned.

Q: Are there any good books that you read in spite of the cover and ended up wondering what on earth the artist and publisher were thinking to pair up a cover that so badly represented a perfectly good book? and...if you didn't like the cover, what made you pick up the book? the author? assigned reading from school? a recommendation from a friend?
The first thing that catches your eye is the cover of the book, but I've read many books that didn't have good covers but were recommendations and found the story to be the main reason I was reading it.

The Beloved Angel/Warrior Team from Until Next Time Returns!
When Matt and Emily are sent on their second mission they have no idea how truly dark human nature can become…
Emily never wanted to face humans again. With the heartache that went on down below, she’s still trying to figure out how to save souls that don’t deserve saving. The only one she wants to see again is Jason - the young man she fell in love with who became the soulmate she simply can’t forget…
Matt was trained to protect and defend the souls down below. Longing to feel the heartfelt emotions that come from being human, Matt wants nothing more than to have just one life - one chance - to live and love the girl of his dreams…
The powerful team find themselves in a brand new century, living in the Gilded Age of New York City. Emily takes over the body of Anya, a young Russian girl who arrives on Ellis Island after a hideous tragedy. There she meets up with a strangely familiar young man by the name of Drew Parrish, who helps Anya survive in an unknown world of luxury, snobbery and…obsession.
What Anya’s inner angel doesn’t know is that the soul she loves is also back. This time around Jason goes by the name of Max Carrow. Once a quiet and kind boy, he’s now part of the ‘Four Hundred Club,’ and wants nothing more than to be among the most admired as he climbs the shaky ladder of society’s elite.
As two worlds merge, Emily and Matt struggle under the weight of their “Gilded Wings.” Not only will they have to figure out who they should fight to save, but they must also face a romantic choice that could destroy them both.

The Walnut Tree By Charles Todd Review-Post
The Walnut Tree By Charles Todd Review-Post
The year is 1914 and the war breaks out and Belgium is taken over by the Germans and is now threatening France. Lady Elspeth, while visiting her friend , quickly tries to get back to England only to find herself trapped on the French coast.
She is recently engaged to handsome Alain, who is her friend's brother and is now called to join his unit to fight in the war.
Her life takes many turns as she takes a nursing course to help the wounded and finds it is not accepted for her because she is of an upper class distinction.
She meets the love of her life, Peter, who she helps in his healing process and finds her life takes a different course, when she learns Alain, her bethrothed, comes back in the picture, which for him has very tragic results.
It is a love story that survives the consequences of this terrible war. A truly page turning story which I found very intriguing.

The Kingmaker's Daughter By Phillippa Gregory Review-Post
The Kingmaker's Daughter By Phllippa Gregory Review- Post
This is the story of Anne Neville daughter of the most powerful 15th Century magnate the Earl of Warwick, who was called the "Kingmaker."
Anne grows up in the court of Edward the IV. She is married and widowed at the tender age of 14, she faces the world alone but soon finds herself married to the young Duke of Gloucester. her trials and tribulations to get to the throne, finds herself protecting herself and her only son from everyone surrounding her.
I found her to be a courageous and brave as she has to deal even her husband's ambitions. Truly , a very intriguing and captivating story of this young girl during those trying times. A great Phillippa Gregory novel, I enjoyed reading it.

Something that's perfect for the story, the tone, the colors, the mood... and did you pick up the book because of the cover? Or were you going to read it anyway, and the cover was just serendipitous?
The books that had covers that were perfect for the story, which I had read were: The Philippa Gregory historical novels, they just draw you to the book and want to read them even more.

Dexter
I finally got to see Dexter last night, where it left off last season was something else. Deb his sister caught him in the act of killing the person they had been looking for. It totally took him and her by surprise and he had to come up with an explanation why he did this. She is finally putting it together even questioning the plastic and having flashbacks of when she was in that situation herself. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the series plays out with her knowing he is the serial killer. Stay tuned.

My teaser: Taken from Wright For America by Robin Lamont
Pg. 5
The young woman crossed her legs and let her sleek high heel dangle prettily. The gesture was meant for the man sitting across from her, and he rewarded her with an oily smile that revealed brown teeth.
