They both know the situation is grave: the poison, extracted from a blowfish, shuts down the nervous system and is virtually impossible to stop. It's a gruesome way to die. McCollough spins out a plot that plays with our suspicions to the very end: as the bodies pile up and the corner keeps naming the neurotoxin, Captain Delmonico must find the killer fast.
My thoughts:
A captivating story of two biochemists Jim and Millie Hunter, who discover a deadly poison extracted from a blowfish. It gets interesting as people in their circle at Chubb University start dying. I found this to be an intriguing read as the cast of characters come under scrutiny. As the evidence mounts, the perpetrator is discovered, surprisingly so, It's a good page turner.
The Prodigal Son sounds quite different.
